How To Enable SSL Using CloudFlare for Custom Domain Users

By default, subdomains of Value Addon like https://yourname.valueaddon.com comes configured with a SSL cert however if you’re using a custom domain, this is not true. For custom domain users, you’ll need to use https://cloudflare.com to enable SSL for your Value Addon membership site.

Here’s how to do this:

  1. Register and login at https://CloudFlare.com
  2. Add a new site to your account that matches your Value Addon Custom Domain URL
  3. Enable/Turn ON the orange proxy toggle for Value Addon related DNS entries only. It’s recommended that you also DISABLE the orange proxy for NON Value Addon DNS entries because most platforms don’t work with cloudflare’s proxy.
  4. Ensure that your SSL/TLS encryption mode is set to: Flexible. You can find this option by going to SSL/TLS > Overview > in your CloudFlare account.
  5. Make sure your update your domain’s nameservers at your Domain’s registrar to CloudFlare.
  6. That’s it, you done.

*If you have multiple Value Addon membership sites and custom domains, you’ll need to repeat this process for all of them.
